Piccola Italia

Local favorite since 1986

At Piccola Italia, we take pride in serving food like your grandmother would prepare and using only the freshest, highest quality ingredients. No preservatives are ever used in any of our sauces, soups or any of the other food we prepare. Not even our sauce that we jar! From the moment you walk in the door, you will find an experience reminiscent of growing up in a small Italian village. You will be treated and fed as though you are part of the family.
From sauces, soups and pizza dough prepared from scratch daily to authentic egg dough homemade pasta to NY style cheesecake - it is all made with love by a family who has a passion for cooking! Here at Piccola Italia, you won't find anything fancy but what you will find is a friendly, familial atmosphere and the aroma and flavor of authentic Italian cuisine. Buon appetito!

Mama Mia!! We've eaten Italian all over the world -- even throughout Italy and there's nothing nearly as good as Piccola Italia's food! I think between my husband and our neighbors and all of our guests that there's nothing we haven't tried --- and never a complaint! Always, there's someone who says, "I wish I had a larger stomach!" Warm, friendly atmosphere. A Family run business. The sauces are to die for and no matter how great the Cheesecake, there's not a CANNOLI this side of Italy -- ANYWHERE -- that can touch the ones you find here! Well worth the short drive from Lakeland at least twice a month and truthfully sometimes more.

After our second very positive experience at Piccola I am ready to give a review. First visit was veal parm and chicken parm. My husband like his veal very much and my chicken version was good but not fantastic. Tonight we tried something different and were blown away by how light and delicious the homemade pasta is at Piccola. My husband raved over the homemade spaghetti with seafood sauce, which he ordered at medium spice level. His dish was loaded with mussels, shrimp, calimari, clams and scallops. He said it was his dream dish. He got a side of meatballs which we both found delicious. I tried the fettucini Alfredo with shrimp. The pasta was lighter than air in the best fettucini sauce and loaded with shrimp, so much so that half came home with me. The two for one chianti was very tasty. We both got the Caesar side salad which was ok, hence three stars. Our server Leah took very good care of us and after two visits we feel like regulars, which we plan on becoming. Busy dining room with adequate wait staff to attend to all the customers. Give them a try and be sure to get one of the many homemade pasta options on the menu.

I travel from South Florida to Tampa several times a year and never miss a chance to have an authentic, home cooked meal at Piccola Italia. The menu is varied and every dish is better than the last. From appetizers to desserts, it's as good as any of the meals I enjoyed in Italy. I even bought bottles of their incredible sauces so I could enjoy a little of Piccola Italia at home.

This place is like walking into an Italian families home, everyone from the servers to the owners treat you like a friend. the food tastes as if it was overnight-ed from Italy itself, you are doing yourself a disservice if you are in the area and don't stop by for a meal.

My friends and I will gather at Piccola's for dinner every few months. We drive in from various locations all over the bay area just to enjoythe company, a wonderful dinner, laugh and talk about the "old days". The food is worth the drive and the staff is incredibly efficient and very friendly. I LOVE this place!!

I have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years. It is the only Italian restaurant that I have found that cooked like my grandmother and she cooked all Italian. The choices are great, it is hard for me because I have soooo many favorites. I guess if I had to make a choice it would be the baked home made pasta with meatballs. It rates a 10!

I live in Tampa - about 40 minutes away - and this place is definitely worth the drive! The food is delicious - especially the baked pastas, pizzas and calzones - and if you like cheesecake, you'll think you died and went to heaven! The fact that the owners still do most of the cooking and are there everyday just add to the authentic quality. Good, simple Italian homecooked meals - FANTASTIC!
